I bought it for my wife, she is extremely happy with it. I had to do a little research because there is is a big difference between the one the LE PARFUM, and the other Black opium smells. This is the one the start out strong, after ten minutes it smells like vanilla coffee and cookies. The smell will remain more then a month as a soft yummy smell. My wife loves it. I wish there was more distinguishable names or colors on the bottles and boxes the is the LE. This one is smooth and glossy black.

I have always loved the oriental, spicy fragrance which was unlike any other, as was the packaging. YSL have once again reinvented a classic with a touch of elegance that every woman would love to have. It has a distinct vanilla essence when first applied which becomes more subtle throughout the day. It is long lasting and can be worn day or night. I have had been complimented many times. YSL’s Black Opium Le Parfum is exquisitely packaged for the modern woman but has the ambiance of a classic. Love how subtly it has been evolving over the years to appeal to all ages as the range grows.

I got my sample, the scent was amazing and smells good.. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

I have always been a fan of Opium Eau de parfum, since it was one of my mother's favorites. I love it and I think it is the perfect gift for lovers of warm aromas, spices and vanilla. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] lown and like the original Black Opium and received the parfum version from Influenster. Before I tried le parfum, I was hoping that the vanilla in Black Opium could be stronger so the scent isn't as harsh. Turns out the new flanker is just what I needed! The opening of le parfum is pretty similar to the original but noticeably smoother. It has the Black Opium da but the drydown is predominantly vanilla (vanilla bean ice cream vibes) and mush less jasmine as in the original. However, I noticed that the performance is not as strong as the original. Longevity is not bad (still lingers after 8 hours) but the projection is weaker than the original.
