This fragrance is a pleasant mix of sweet, slightly spicy, and woodsy . The citrus notes of orange are definitely the most prominent, followed by a hint of tobacco. There are many other scents all mixed in, and I am sure some may be able to pick them out better than me, but in the end, it doesn't matter . The fragrance is kind of bold and heavy at first but softens quickly and lingers for several hours. Great for any time of the year and any occasion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The initial notes when first spraying the Dolce & Gabbana, The One, you instantly get hit with an orange/citriousy scent. As the scent starts to settle, you start to notice a fresh sage heavy tone, that brings the scent together. If you take a long draw of the scent, you notice a woodiness (not the woodiness you smell in a forest or a woodworking shop, but that of a candle that says "hints of woodiness"), which is a sweet and fresh, kind of scent. Its quite energetic and energizing, so for me, its the perfect scent to use if you have a day thats full of meetings and "get-togethers" as it will keep you on your feet. Also great for a long day that ends with a team building happy hour, as you'll most likely be drained, but need to keep that game face!

This is The One Pour Homme Eau de Parfum, a 2025 re-release/reformulation which marks a refreshed take on the beloved 2008/2015 classic. This is timed to celebrate the line's 20th anniversary alongside the new Parfum flanker. Crafted (or refined) by Jean-Christophe Hérault, this iteration promises the same iconic woody-ambery DNA but with enhanced performance, up to 16 hours of claimed longevity. and a modernized bottle design featuring cleaner lines and a clearer juice presentation (no gradient like older versions). The opening bursts with bright grapefruit, orange (Tarocco orange for that juicy Italian vibrancy), and a touch of cardamom, it's citrusy and spicy right away, more lively and less ginger-heavy than some older batches (many note the ginger note has been dialed back or removed, shifting focus to a fresher, fruitier start). This makes it feel contemporary and approachable without losing the warm invitation the line is known for. In the heart, clary sage brings an herbal, slightly aromatic edge, paired with subtle spices and emerging tobacco hints. It's woodier and more herbal overall compared to the richer, sweeter 2015 OG, less plush sweetness, more refined dryness and balance. The tobacco here is present but smoother, not as dominant or smoky as in some flankers. The base settles into that signature amber, tobacco, and sandalwood warmth, with vetiver adding a clean, grounding finish. It's cozy and seductive, retaining the magnetic, date-night allure, but the reformulation leans woodier and less opulent, a trade-off some love for versatility, others miss the old plushness. Performance is the big upgrade: I get a solid projection for 3-5 hours and longevity pushing 8-12+ hours (closer to the marketed 16 in ideal conditions), a noticeable step up from weaker recent batches of the pre-2025 EDP. It's not a nuclear beast like some modern powerhouses, but it holds presence well for fall/winter, evenings, or office-to-date transitions. Overall, this 2025 EDP is a smart evolution, brighter and more herbal up top, woodier in the dry-down, with better staying power and a sleek new look. It keeps the effortless charm and mass-appeal seduction that made "The One" legendary, while feeling refreshed rather than reinvented. This is a reliable crowd-pleaser that justifies repurchasing in its updated form. Highly recommended if you're after that signature warmth with modern longevity.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first found I was going to receive this product I had NO idea they were reformulating the original version of this product. Now I have smelt the original before and these two are different. This S&G edp The One opens with a tabcco orange, citrusy, ambery smell. You're left with a deep and sweet tobacco smell on you lasting several hours vs the original. The original wasn't as sweet either, more deep than anything. I could see using this fragrance on a nice winter or spring night. Even fall would be good. People tell me they can smell it on me when I walk in a room and the projection of this fragrance is good. I have also seen what the new boxes and bottle look like and they definitely improved that too. A lighter bottle and cool design package with a tie on there now to make it feel more sophisticated like.

It has an elegant, muscular, and warm woody freshness. The Italians are known for their expertise in creating fragrances that combine passion with scents. I think it can be worn in any season of the year and is long-lasting. I absolutely adore the name, “The One,” which is truly unique. I would continue using it and highly recommend it to others.

For The One For Men Eau de Parfum, it’s sophisticated and super versatile. Lasting all night for dinner, it lingers longer on my shirt. With a sleek and elegant bottle, even though I received a sample this is amazing and easy to use. I am saving up to purchase a travel rollerball, so I can freshen up at work and after the gym. Comprised of notes with Italian Tarocco Orange, French Clary Sage, and Australian Sandalwood. It’s in the Woody family, I would say this is musky and perfect for college students for work or class.

And I detect a hint of citrus as well! This works for day and night activities and from the few sprays I had from the sample, it lasts for majority of the day! I’m thinking of grabbing 3oz bottle to get the full effect
