Santal Royal Eau De Parfum Women Perfume (75ml)

I purchased this perfume after falling in love with Mon Guerlain, finding that I loved wearing rose scents, but needing a fragrance strong enough to stand up to winter air. This was a bit of a risk as I blind purchased it, but I am so glad I did. The sandalwood is thick, sultry and lifted by the hint of musk, while the rose and faint whispers of jasmine round it out to almost invite another sniff. The first scent is very heavy on the musk and wood, but post dry-down it becomes more complex with a touch of powdery nature that brings out the floral notes. I personally think it's a fine unisex perfume, but I don't think I could bring myself to share the bottle to find out!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Guerlain bottle of this style. It's a beautiful bottle in black with good text. The fragrance itself is very strong compared to the perfumes I usually buy. I found it overpowering for day time use, and feel I would wear it more for evening time. I think it does remind me of scent in places like dubai and this perfume could be more popular with people who like ouds. I think that there are similar scents at Jo malones. I have been asked by some one online if I recommend it to her... My answer is you really need to find the tester bottle in store to try it as this one isn't really my style.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly the best scent I have ever worn, the bottle screams french boutique and maturity, this smells like a strong sexy woman fragrance. The scent Itself is musky, dark, mysterious, seductive and fiercely elegant. Lingers for a long time too. Very pleased I had the chance to try this! Me St certainly my new permanent statement fragrance.

A friend had told me it was unisex which I guess should have made me raise an eyebrow but it didn’t. First the packaging...the box is a bit basic however the bottle itself is really nice and if you are someone who has your fragrances on display you will not mind having this as centre price The scent This is not soy something I would say is unisex at all and would say it is 110% for a man. It is very woody and a bit too strong for me That being said one spray will last for hours

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so glad I went for this perfume. It is completely my kind of smell. It smells expensive and so feminine without being too overwhelming. Oriental with hints of rose, musk and amber. It is truly a wonderful scent which last so well on the skin. Definitely worth the money, the bottle it comes in is beautiful too. Black bottle with gold lid, looks very expensive indeed. If you like oud type of fragrance without the strong over whelming scent this is definitely the one. It’s in the light side but has all the right tones. Very elegant and warm, would highly recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This perfume from the name, smell and appearance is very rich and exotic. At first the smell is quite overpowering so you do not need to spray much at all, probably because it is a eau de parfum. I was quite put off by the strong smell to begin with because I'm used to more subtle and sweeter smells. After you let this perfume absorb into your skin after a while it takes on a better fragrance, but it is still rich and strong. I would recommend that this perfume is to be worn as an evening event perfume not a daytime everyday fragrance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start by saying the bottle looks and feels very luxe, it is a heavy bottle and the cap secures on well. I can hold this from the cap and it won’t come off. The atomiser is brilliant and it is a fine mist, I liked that I could control how little I wanted to spray. On first sniff I was amazed at the smell. It’s majestic. I could smell sandalwood, cinnamon and rose straight away and the way they are blended is amazing. I could also smell something almost menthol, very cooling to the nose but I don’t know which note that would have been from. It then dried down and I got more of the oud and spices coming in and all I can say is this is so intriguing and alluring. As I went about my day I could smell this and the scent trail is somewhat different to the smell on my skin and clothes up close. The projection and sillage leave nothing to be desired, this is a total beast. It’s so multifaceted and smells like nothing I’ve smelt before. When my husband came home from work he hugged me and asked what I had on, he said I smelt amazing (he very rarely comments on my scent as he’s not really into perfume so him saying I smelt amazing means he loves it). It definitely is unisex and I can see both women and men using this. I can also see potential for this being layered with a more feminine fragrance to make it more girly when I’m in the mood for that. This is definitely different to your usual typical designer fragrances so I would not recommend anyone to blind buy this incase it is not what you were expecting, this might not be for everyone. Having said that, as I was sent this to test it kind of was a blind buy situation and honestly this is my new love. This is already in my top 5 which is impressive considering I have over 100 perfumes. I am so glad to add this to my fragrance collection and it looks beautiful on my fragrance table. 10/10!

It has a real diversity of elements to it, being both woody and floral but not overpowering. It could be worn by both women or men. I have had numerous compliments since wearing it! I was disappointed that it made no mention of whether it was tested on animals as cruelty free cosmetics are important to me. I was also disappointed with the bottle, which I felt was not as luxurious as I expected. I would recommend this as a truly lovely fragrance if it is cruelty free.
